Engagement is a metric used to track how much your audience is interacting with your content, such as liking, commenting, sharing and clicking on links on Social Media. Measuring Engagement Rate is simple, and often Social Media platform analytics show you the level of interaction generated by a user on a single piece of content.
According to the Corporate Finance Institute you can calculate your Engagement Rate by dividing your total engagements by your number of followers and timsing by 100. This might differ depending on your scheduling platform. It is important to note that Engagement Rate is only a vanity metric, and therefore should not necessarily be your main goal and focus in Marketing. Many organisations get caught up on this metric, when in actual fact the number of clicks and sign-ups matter the most.
